27th January is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The liberation of the concentration camp Auschwitz- Birkenau on this day 1945 was the end of the Holocaust. The Holocaust Memorial in Stockholm commemorates 8500 victims whose relatives live in Sweden. Their names are engraved in the wall next to Great Synagogue at Wahrendorsffsgatan. Every year on this day the Jewish Congregation in Stockholm organises a remembrance meeting with survivors of Holocaust and politicians.
