Events to check out in the first part of November

Stockholm embraced this week its first snow for this end of the year. So, right after Halloween, the city heads slowly to the Christmas season, starting with the yet not decorated Christmas trees in the public squares and to the new city lights in the most popular places. This being said, keep an eye on our blog for tips on events to check out!

First of all, there is the popular Stockholm Film Festival. It had its first edition in 1990 and until today it has shown more than 300 movies from all over the world. The winner of the competition receives the Bronze Horse (Bronshästen), as did Quentin Tarantino’s movies, for example. The festival is ongoing between the 9th and 20th of November. Then, you have the Sound of Stockholm music festival. This is its 7th edition and, like in the previous years, it aims to present to the public new music from the Stockholm’s artistic environment. The festival will be ongoing on several places around the city between the 9th and 13th of November. More information can be found here.

Next, there is the Sthlm Food & Wine festival between the 10th and 13th of November. According to the organizers it’s the largest food fair in the Nordic region. A true delight for gourmands. The event takes place at Stockholmsmässan. More information is available here.

Finally, do not miss the the Photofair (Fotomässan), which takes places also at Stockholmsmässan, but between 11th and 13th of November. The event is presented as being the largest market for photography in the Nordics, being held for the first time in 2006 and having nowadays more than 12.000 visitors.
